The best brands are built by two
Mashin sustains long-term relationships with its clients: Unilever since 1999, Topper since 2008, Banco Galicia since 2009, Motorola since 2010 and Riot Games since 2016.
The longest one, with Unilever, began the same year the agency was founded.
Behind every brand there are people. A brand manager defending a budget, a team debating a decision, someone reviewing a piece at eleven at night. Understanding a brand's philosophy is only half the work. The other half is understanding the people who make it grow every day.
It sounds a little naive to put it this way, but Mashin likes working with friends. And that explains a good part of how we work.
The first months are the hard onesAs in any relationship.
At the start you have to figure each other out. Learn what is said and what goes without saying. Where the real limit is and where the stated one is. What worries this particular person, which is not the same thing that worried their predecessor or worries their boss. How hard you can push and when you have to hold steady.
That takes months. Sometimes years. There is no way to speed it up, and any agency that promises to understand you from the first meeting is promising something it cannot deliver.
But once that time has passed, something hard to replicate happens: the work becomes faster, more precise and considerably more ambitious. You can propose what you could not before. You can argue without explaining the context from scratch. You can take risks, because there is accumulated trust to back them.
That is why we choose this way
Mashin gives priority to relationships with the potential to grow over time. Comfort has nothing to do with it: that is where the work goes furthest.
A brand built over years between its owners and Mashin, their agency, is no service rendered. It is something made between the two sides, where by now it is not always clear whose idea each one was.
That is the way of working Mashin looks for, and the reason its relationship with Unilever has lasted more than 25 years, the one with Topper, more than 15, and the one with Banco Galicia, also more than 15.
